ART ACQUISITION POLICY

(Note:  This policy was temporarily suspended by the MSU Board of Regents 8/7/92)
  1. Purpose
    Art procured through this program is intended to broaden the scope of the students' educational experiences. This, along with the students' exposure to various philosophies and ideologies, will assist the university in achieving its primary mission of education.


  2. Funding
    Up to one percent of new construction and renovation costs of all present and future building projects over $300,000 on the Midwestern State University campus will be designated for quality works of art of an interior or exterior nature if funds are available.


  3. Selection
    Selection of the works of art will be under the direction of the MSU Art Acquisition Committee.


  4. Disposition of Remaining Funds
    At the conclusion of each art project, any remaining funds will be returned to the original funding source.
