- Notification of University Officials
- In the case where an individual becomes dysfunctional and/or exhibits erratic behavior, the following procedures should be followed:
- During Regular Office Hours (8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.)
- Contact one of the following persons:
- Counseling Center Director
- Dean of Students
- Director of Vinson Health Center
- Associate Vice President for Student Affairs
- Vice President for University Advancement and Student Affairs
- That person, or a member of the staff, if necessary, will:
- Notify MSU Police
- Assess needs of students, make appropriate referrals or contacts
- In an Extreme Emergency or During Evenings (after 5:00 p.m.) And Weekends:
- Contact MSU Police
- Call community resources available for crisis intervention, assessment, and referral services
- MSU Police will provide immediate intervention and take the person to areas designated by crisis interventionist. (See existing memo on procedure for available community resources.)

- Notification of Other MSU Officials and the Individual's Family
- These notifications are to be done by one of the contact persons listed in Section 1 above:
- Vice President for University Advancement and Student Affairs who will notify:
- University President
- Other appropriate university officials
- Family of individual
